Suddenly changing light conditions when driving down tree-lined roads, glare from the sun or lacking contrast in hazy weather – daytime running lights increase visibility and help reduce dangerous misjudgements. Daytime running lights are therefore obligatory in many countries.

The electronics are controlled in such a way that when the ignition is switched on, the dipped beam headlights, the rear lights, the number plate lights and the instrument cluster illumination are switched on entirely automatically.
