Sporty performanceCeramic brake discs

Audi Genuine ceramic brake discs offer numerous advantages compared with identical steel brake discs. Due to the excellent deceleration values the driver benefits from higher driving dynamics and agility. There is also added safety, as braking performance does not deteriorate, even after frequent braking, e.g. when driving through mountain passes.

Features
Audi ceramic brakesCeramic brakesAudi ceramic brakes offer outstanding deceleration rates, long service life and sporty looks.Ceramic brakes are made of carbon fibre-reinforced ceramic. This composite ceramic, as it is known, contains as its substrate silicon carbide, a very hard, abrasion-resistant material with a diamond-like crystalline structure.

Advantages

  • Outstanding deceleration
  • Braking performance does not deteriorate, even after frequent braking, e.g. when driving through mountain passes.
  • Thanks to the 50 percent, or 20 kilogram, reduction in weight compared with conventional brake discs - and the resulting reduction in unsprung masses - the driver benefits from improved handling and agility.
  • The service life of the ceramic brake is many times longer than conventional steel discs.
  • In addition, the surface hardness of the composite ceramic makes the brake discs insensitive to road and fluid salts as well as corrosion and rust.
  • The vehicle's looks are enhanced and its sportiness accentuated by the typical ceramic brake surfaces, the perforated brake discs and the anthracite-coloured brake callipers (featuring the "Audi ceramic" lettering on the front axle).

Availability
Audi Genuine ceramic brake discs are available for the following models:
